Young Fathers Report ‘Are we nearly there yet, Dad?’ Supporting young dads’ journeys through fatherhood.

The FSP worked with a group of leading fathers organisations and individuals to understand the experiences and needs of young fathers across England. Six young fathers’ journeys are mapped out from the time they find out they are going to be a dad, to when their child turns one.

Report recommendations include:

• Every local authority should appoint a lead professional for young fathers
• A systematic approach to data collection on fathers should be developed by central government
• Relationship support should also help young parents maintain contact and value the father child relationship
