The Family Strategic Partnership is pleased to announce their programme of work for 2012-13.

Family Impact In March we held a seminar to consider the impact of Government policies on financial support to families. (how many) professionals from the sector attended “The impact of welfare reform and deficit reduction policies on family income: A research seminar for the VCS”.  The aim of the event was to hear the latest research and thinking from a range of organisations and to explore future areas of VCS collaboration that could benefit families. This 2012 programme of work will include research projects on what families need and when as well as how ‘family friendly’ England is.

We will also be developing projects exploring the particular needs of young fathers and looking at services provided to BME communities by the VCS. We are looking for specialist partners from the sector to work with on both pieces of work. Please contact jess.cundy@barnardos.org.uk if you are interested .

Health Reform  This is a programme of work designed to increase sector understanding of the impact of health reform on organisations and service delivery and specifically to highlight policy and practice issues in relation to prisoners’ families.

Education Reform A programme of work designed to increase sector understanding of the impact of education reform on organisations and service delivery. It will promote the importance of parental engagement and support VCS organisations to engage with schools and provide services.
